Air Worthy at the first Boeing 767 conversion in Europe
This January marked a milestone in the aviation industry: the first Boeing 767-300 conversion was started for the first time in Europe.
Challenge Group is adding this converted wide-body twin jet aircraft to its fleet, as special cargo needs special aircraft. The conversion program is undergoing in partnership with IAI - Israel Aerospace Industries at a plant which is managed by Avia Prime Group and JAT Tehnika.
A ceremony was organised in Belgrade, where the conversion is taking place, in order to celebrate this historical moment. During the ceremony, representatives of Avia Prime, Israeli Aerospace Industries, Challenge Group, as well as the ambassadors of Israel, Poland and the Czech Republic in Serbia, symbolically "cut-out" the Boeing's fuselage, after which the aircraft fuselage skin section was removed revealing the opening for the new cargo door.
Air Worthy also took part in the ceremony as it is working together with Challenge Air Cargo CAMO supplying engineering and planning support. Air Worthy is supporting in all the avionics modifications needed to have an aircraft ready to operate worldwide under EASA rules and in getting this B767-300 BDSF imported into EASA via an ARC recommendation.
